Preparing for your appointment:
To ensure the best possible outcome for your tattoo appointment, please follow these guidelines leading up to and on the day of your appointment: The week(s) leading up to your appointment: -Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water. Well-hydrated skin is easier to tattoo, and using a moisturizer during this time can be helpful. -Gently exfoliate your skin in the days leading up to your appointment. Avoid doing this on the day of your appointment. Day of your appointment: -Take a shower and arrive with clean skin. -Eat a filling meal before your appointment to keep your blood sugar levels up. -Wear comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the area being tattooed. -Bring water and snacks. While we have refreshments at the studio, it's always best to come prepared. -Bring entertainment, such as podcasts, music, or movies, as you'll need to remain still during the tattoo process. Please avoid any movements, such as reaching for your phone or animated talking, that can affect the tattoo or make the process take longer. -If this is your first tattoo, please let me know. I want to make sure you are well-informed and comfortable with each step of the process. -If you are anxious or nervous about your appointment, please also let me know. I am happy to help in any way I can. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns leading up to your appointment
Aftercare:
The aftercare of your tattoo will determine the way your tattoo is going to look once it’s fully healed. Please follow these directions carefully and always contact me if you have any questions, I am always happy to help. -After leaving the studio, wear your bandage for at least 2-4 hours. Do not remove your bandage unless you are able to safely and properly clean your tattoo. If your bandage falls off, do not bandage it again. -With clean hands carefully remove your bandage and wash the tattoo with warm water and a fragrance free (antibacterial) soap. Do not scrub your tattoo, just gently rub with your fingertips until clean. Rise throughly. Lightly pat dry with a paper towel, do not rub and do not use a cloth towel to dry it. Then let air dry for a couple minutes. -Once it's completely dry, for the first 3 days apply a THIN layer of virgin food grade coconut oil or Aquaphor. After three days apply an unscented gentle lotion to the tattoo instead of the oil/ointment. -Wear clean loose fitting clothing during the healing process to avoid irritating or scratching your new tattoo. -Follow these washing instructions at least 3 times daily for the first 2 weeks of healing. The surface healing of a tattoo is about 2 weeks, during this time: -Always keep your tattoo and surrounding area clean. -Do not touch your tattoo at any time other than cleaning. -Do not submerged your tattoo in water. (Bath, pool, hot tub, lake, etc.) -Do not pick or scratch at your tattoo. -Do not expose your tattoo to direct sunlight or tanning beds. Once healed always wear sunblock on your tattoo.
